Kevin Willard quote book: Villanova

On the final ten minutes of the game:
"I thought that big -- the fourth foul on Khadeen really kind of changed the momentum of the game. It put him on the bench, even though I thought we did a pretty good job. I thought Eron (Gordon) and Jordan (Walker) did a good job and just kind of changed the whole momentum for us, because he was doing a really good job on (Jalen) Brunson."

On Omari Spellman's performance for Villanova:
"I'll be honest with you: Four of his threes were contested. I mean, when a guy like that makes shots like that, you're going to have a hard time beating them. We talked a lot about how (Eric) Paschall had been shooting the basketball, but he got it going. You've got to give the kid credit -- he got it going -- but anytime a guy goes off like that, you're going to have a long night."

On having regrets about not calling a timeout before Khadeen Carrington's fourth foul:
"No."

On whether officiating had any influence on the outcome:
"No -- again, I was proud of how hard we played, I thought we really battled. I thought they battled -- I thought it was a good college basketball game for most of the game. From the seven-minute mark to the four-minute mark, Spellman hits two big threes and I thought they did a good job defensively, getting out in the passing lanes a little bit. But overall, I thought both teams played really hard and really well."

On moral victory to be had:
"No, I mean, we're going to -- I think we play them again in three weeks, three-and-a-half weeks. They're a good basketball team. On the road, you can't let them make twelve threes. You let a home team make twelve threes, you're going to be in for a long night. But like I said, I've got nothing but -- I'm extremely proud of how we came out, how we battled for most of the game, and you've gotta give them credit. They made some good plays."

On today's result being more about how Villanova played:
"I didn't think -- I think we could play better, I think we could do a couple of different things. But like I said, they're a good basketball team, and on the road -- you better play -- you've got to almost play perfect when you play Villanova on the road, and I thought we did a really good job for a lot of the game. Sometimes you've got to give credit, the kid Spellman hit some tough threes. I really thought that was the difference in the game."

On confidence in Seton Hall's first half, with Desi Rodriguez in foul trouble:
"I was really happy that we were only down four having Desi playing only the minutes he played in the first half, because I thought Desi had a really good rhythm going early on. His third one, he should have just let go, but Khadeen has been playing so well for us, and he's been playing at really just a perfect pace for us. That really -- again, when you don't have your point guard out there for -- I think it was almost a good, solid six minutes -- that really just kills your whole rhythm offensively and defensively, I think. Spellman hits a three underneath out of bounds because he had -- we let Brunson go back door and they get an underneath-out-of-bounds play, and they wouldn't have scored if Khadeen was probably on him, so him not being in the game was really a big difference-maker."

On Carrington's fourth foul:
"I have no thoughts on anything like that, whatsoever."
